Ministers rebuff claims of walk-out on raila but admit differences exist


A FRESH power struggle in the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), pitting Prime Minister Raila Odinga against Agriculture minister William Ruto, is threatening to cause a hemorrhage within the party’s rank and file.


The new rivalry between the two ODM luminaries comes slightly over six months since the two leaders buried the hatchet after it was said each leader had schemes against the other.


The hatchet was buried at an ad hoc meeting by the party’s top command, the Pentagon, and held at Rail’s residence in Karen, Nairobi.


But in the latest altercation, Raila allies are accusing Ruto of undermining the Premier through his most recent actions that involve impromptu tours and fundraising across the country.
